Anonymous FTP

Anonymous FTP allows the public to access files of your choice via the FTP protocol without an assigned username or password.

 

 
Autoresponder
Easily configured to work with your existing pages, the Autoresponder is a script that takes client input from a standard HTML form and sends it to an email address of your choice, then sends the client an email with text of your choice. It's largely based on Form Mail.

CGI Directory & Scripts

Everyone gets a /cgi-local directory to allow them to run the proliferation of CGI and Perl scripts for specific purposes. These scripts are both commercially available and quite a few of them are shareware or free. Script functions vary from simple hit counters to online shopping systems ('carts').

Control Panel
A proprietary program that allows all of our customers to set up POP3 e-mail boxes, mail forwarding, view comprehensive site access logs, and perform basic administrative functions.

Counters
A simple way of determining how many people have loaded a particular page, our counter script can display 'hits', as well as the current time & date. Use as many as you like.  Click here for help on this.

CyberCash

Process credit cards transactions with CyberCash, a popular browser-friendly automated verification service. Collect credit card numbers from your customers and process them automatically. Configured for use with our servers for a one-time fee.

Databases, ODBC & SQL

ODBC & SQL drivers allow you to serve database files on the web. We have drivers that are compatible with many popular formats such as Access and FoxPro. One driver is included with the NT Hosting plan, and Active Server Pages can be utilized to interface between the client and the database.

Data Transfer
Every customer is allocated a certain amount of monthly outbound bandwidth that is used up each time a file is served from the site. The exact amount varies according to which hosting plan you choose. Most of our users do not use up all their bandwidth each month, but a small proportional fee is incurred for those who use more - usually 12 cents per megabyte over the limit.

Disk Space
All customers are allocated a block of disk space in which to store all of their web sites files - pages, images, audio and video clips, etc. The size of the space varies according to which hosting plan you choose. Additional space is available at the cost of $1 per megabyte / per month.

Domain Name Registration
We can register domain names, such as yourcompany.com (or .net or .org as needed) and have it resolve to your web site. InterNIC will bill you $100 for the first two years of domain ownership, and $50 per year afterward.

Form Mail
A convenient script that takes input from an HTML form and sends it to an email address(s) of your choice. It is very easy to configure your existing form to work with Form Mail. Click here for help on this.

FrontPage
Microsoft FrontPage is a graphical web page editor and site management tool. The editor allows a person who is unfamiliar with HTML to create web pages they way they would look in a browser, while the explorer part of the software tracks hyperlinks and allows users to move and rename pages without breaking links. In order to take full advantage of FrontPage, your  web provider must offer the FrontPage server extensions; we offer them to all customers for FREE.

FTP
File Transfer Protocol is a simple Internet standard for moving files between computers. All customers get 24 hour FTP access to their sites. You will need an FTP client program on your own machine; clicking one of the following links will allow you to download an FTP client. Windows users can try WS-FTP, Mac users can try Fetch or Anarchie.

Logs
All our UNIX customers have the ability to view detailed access logs which track usage statistics. Logs can be seamlessly generated with Analog through the Control Panel, and are also available in the raw format for users who wish to use their own log analysis software.

Mail Accounts & Forwarding
All customers have the ability to create their own POP3 mailboxes to receive mail and change passwords, as well as designate certain addresses to automatically forward to another address of your choice. Both are very easy to configure using our Control Panel.

NT Hosting
With this plan your site will be placed on a Windows NT server to utilize Active Server Pages, as well as a System DSN to serve a database of your own design.

Password Protection
All customers have the ability to restrict the public from viewing all or part of their site on the web. By password-protecting a folder of your choice, only people who have a correct username and password are allowed to browse.

RealAudio & RealVideo
A popular multimedia standard for the web, RealMedia allows you to serve audio and video files in real-time regardless of the client's connection speed. Streaming capability is included with our Commerce Plan. The following links will allow you to download the Player software.  You can purchase and download the RealEncoder 5.1 here.

Secure Server
Our Secure Server (SSL) uses state-of-the-art encryption to protect the data connection between the server and the client from prying eyes. A necessary standard for anyone collecting credit card numbers or other sensitive data over the web. Offered with our e-Commerce Plan.

Shopping Cart Software
All customers can utilize our Shopping Cart script to put a storefront on the Internet. Users can browse your inventory and add items to a virtual shopping cart for later purchase, then checkout and submit ordering information to you for order processing. When used in conjunction with the Secure Server and Cybercash, your store automatically accepts credit card numbers from your customers and processes them for payment. Build your site, then sit back and watch the orders roll in.

Telnet
Telnet is an Internet protocol that allows you to open a UNIX shell on our server from your own computer. It uses a simple terminal text window to send and receive commands & data. There is a telnet client that comes with Windows 95 and NT called "telnet.exe", doing a Find / Files or Folders should locate it on your own hard drive.

UNIX Shell
Every customer gets access to the versatile UNIX command-line operating system. To use the shell, log in via the popular Telnet protocol to your domain name or IP address. Once logged in, the powerful BSD UNIX facilities are at your fingertips.

If you aren't familiar with UNIX, there are many great books available on the subject at your local library and bookstore. Below are a couple of bookmarks to get you started:
